Ellen DeGeneres Shares Life in the Countryside
Ellen DeGeneres recently offered her fans a peek into her home nestled in the English countryside. In an Instagram post on Monday, the 67-year-old former talk show host shared a light-hearted video featuring her and her wife, Portia de Rossi, along with some unexpected guests: sheep.
“Our sheep keeps going inside,” DeGeneres joked in her caption. “To be fair, we do have furniture that resembles sheep, but at least that doesn’t try to munch on our rug.”
The first clip reveals a sheep casually entering through a sliding glass door left ajar. The backdrop shows a gravel courtyard adorned with bushes and trees, leading into lush meadows.
Addressing Speculations
In another clip, the couple’s dog seems a bit startled by the sheep’s intrusion. De Rossi is heard asking, “Are they inside?” to which DeGeneres confirms, “Yeah, they’re inside.”
Meanwhile, in a separate section of their home, large glass doors and sturdy flooring feature as De Rossi kindly tries to guide the sheep back outside. It’s amusing to see the interaction and how the sheep, seemingly unfazed, wander about as if they own the place.
Earlier, the couple sold their Montecito, California home and relocated to the picturesque Cotswolds in November 2024. It’s interesting—they had a charming home in Santa Barbara, which, I believe, they sold later on. Just a few months back, DeGeneres was actively searching for a house in the UK, attempting to find the perfect spot.
Shortly after moving in, DeGeneres humorously posted about her struggles with lawn care, sharing a video of herself trying to mow the grass. It showed her managing to mow a small patch with captions indicating an amusing contrast between expectations and reality.
DeGeneres seemed to enjoy the chaos that comes with country living, reflecting on her new life in the UK—where some days truly feel like an adventure.
