Long Island Therapist Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges
A therapist from Long Island, Renee Hoberman, who is 36 years old, has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related to distributing child pornography. Hoberman, who worked as a licensed social worker in Plainview, faced serious accusations stemming from her actions in 2024, including sharing horrific content on the social media app Kik.
During the investigation, she revealed that she found a disturbing sense of gratification from sharing the abusive material while working with minors in Melville. One of the videos that surfaced—described as particularly repulsive—involved infants subjected to violent abuse, as noted by U.S. attorney Joseph Nocera, Jr. He expressed outrage, stating, “The defendant has admitted to distributing a very despicable and inconceivable video depicting the horrifying sexual abuse of a baby.” He emphasized that such acts should invoke anger among all decent members of society.
The prosecution detailed how one video featured infants aged between six months and one year being assaulted. Moreover, Hoberman engaged in disturbing online interactions, posing as a father participating in disturbing conversations about the abuse of children.
She used several usernames, including “Badgurl854” and “Daddywhospanks Naked,” to communicate in these online spaces, which reportedly occurred between June and October 2024. Hoberman allegedly discussed graphic acts she claimed to commit, further underscoring the depravity of the situation.
Authorities became aware of Hoberman’s activities after receiving notifications about potential abuse through Kik. A search of her phone revealed child abuse content hidden in a folder, and she confessed to sharing such material on multiple messaging platforms.
In a shocking admission, she conveyed to federal agents her specific interest in children from infancy up to three years old and the violent nature depicted in the pornographic material. Given the severity of her actions, Hoberman could face up to 20 years in prison.
