Franklin Graham Urges Prayer for President Trump Amid Global Tensions
Evangelist Franklin Graham emphasized the importance of prayer for President Donald Trump, suggesting he needs “God’s wisdom and strength” to navigate current global challenges. On Friday, he called on Americans to join in praying for the President.
“Would you like to lift President Trump in your prayers?” Graham asked, highlighting his concerns about the state of the world. He mentioned troubling situations, including escalating conflicts between Iran and Israel, ongoing tensions in Ukraine, and threats posed by China to Taiwan. “It seems like the world is teetering on the edge,” he noted.
Graham continued, stating that the decisions made by the President would have significant repercussions not just for the U.S., but globally. He expressed hope that God would guide Trump’s choices during these tumultuous times, citing Matthew 24:7, which speaks about nations rising against each other.
This call for prayer came after Graham had already urged unity in prayer on Wednesday, focusing on the innocent lives affected by the ongoing war. “Pray for those caught in the midst of bombings and missile strikes,” he urged, adding that he hopes for protection for both Iranian Christians and the Jewish people in Israel. “My prayer is that everyone in these regions will come to know the truth of God’s Word.”
Graham’s appeals for prayer coincide with President Trump’s involvement in discussions surrounding the Iran-Israel conflict. Recently, Trump mentioned that Iran has a two-week window to engage in negotiations with the U.S.
White House Press Officer Caroline Leavitt acknowledged the media’s speculation regarding the President’s decisions about the situation in Iran. “I have a direct message from the President,” she said. She reported that Trump would assess the potential for negotiations with Iran in the near future and decide how to proceed based on that.
