Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Pro-American Message on The View

On June 17th, Arnold Schwarzenegger addressed some contentious issues during an appearance on ABC’s “The View.” Joy Behar attempted to corner him with questions about ICE’s activities, but Schwarzenegger’s responses didn’t align with her expectations; in fact, he took a distinctly pro-American stance.

Pat Gray from “Pat Gray Unleashed” highlighted a clip featuring Schwarzenegger’s powerful speech about America.

During the interview, Behar questioned him about his feelings as an immigrant regarding ICE’s actions. Schwarzenegger replied, “I am so proud and happy to be accepted by Americans. I came here at 21 with absolutely nothing, and to create such a career, well, I couldn’t have done that in other countries.”

He continued, reflecting on his journey: “My bodybuilding career, my acting career, my wonderful family, and my time as governor—this is all thanks to America. This country is the greatest in the world, a true land of opportunity.”

Schwarzenegger also announced plans for a celebration of America’s 250th anniversary at Mount Vernon, which will include a naturalization ceremony. He described the event as deeply meaningful, where legal immigrants can take an oath of citizenship, renouncing their loyalties to other nations.

He expressed his enthusiasm: “It’s such a great celebration, honoring those who choose to become Americans.”

As he spoke, the panel occasionally nodded, acknowledging his points. However, he made a remark that visibly unsettled them: “But the key thing to remember is that we need to take legitimate action. Those who commit illegal acts in America are not making smart decisions.”

“When you come to America, you become a guest. You should act like one. If I visit someone’s home, I clean up after myself and respect the rules, rather than behave like a criminal,” he elaborated.

Sunny Hostin seemed to reach out, perhaps in a gesture of caution, as if to say, “Let’s not go there.” Yet Schwarzenegger pressed on, insisting that immigrants should think about their role in this country. “You want to be part of America, so act responsibly,” he stated.

Referring to the unexpectedness of his conservative views after decades in the spotlight, Pat noted, “We didn’t see this from Schwarzenegger for the last thirty years. But he’s been advocating for freedom lately.”
