Video Might Question Karmelo Anthony's Self-Defense Argument

Surveillance footage reportedly shows a tragic incident involving high school student Austin Metcalf and Carmelo Anthony in Frisco, Texas, which took place at Kuikendall Stadium on April 2nd.

On Tuesday, a news outlet gained access to a 40-minute video recorded on the opposite side of the football field that captured the fatal event.

“In seconds, 17-year-old Carmelo Anthony fatally injured 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, transforming a rain delay into a crime scene,” the article noted.

The incident unfolded as Metcalf, a student at Memorial High School, confronted Anthony, who was seated in a non-designated area for his team at Centennial High School.

According to reports, while there was conflict between the two teens, footage reviewed by the news outlet did not show any apparent physical altercation before the stabbing.

The article pointed out that the identities of the two boys were not easily discernible in the recording, with students appearing to sit quietly under a tent.

Suddenly, the moment escalates as Anthony attacks Metcalf. Although the stabbings themselves weren’t visible on the camera, the immediate chaos was evident, as students were seen fleeing.

After his arrest, Anthony acknowledged fatally stabbing Metcalf, asserting that it was in self-defense, according to reports.

School officials recently confirmed the existence of recorded footage from the incident, although it has not been released to the public.

Investigators stated that Anthony entered the Memorial School tent where Metcalf told him to leave. Following this, Anthony reportedly attempted to leave but was pushed by Metcalf.

Prosecutors allege that Anthony warned, “Touch me and see what happens.”

After being pushed, Anthony retrieved a large knife from a bag and stabbed Metcalf.

Recent reports have indicated that the footage appears to cast doubt on Anthony’s claim of self-defense, and authorities have charged him with first-degree murder.
