Sean Hjelle addresses allegations of 'abuse' and 'affairs' made by his wife Caroline

Sean Hoell has spoken publicly regarding the accusations of abuse and infidelity brought against him by his wife, Caroline.

“There’s no official comment at this moment,” Hoell stated after the team’s 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. “I plan to consult with my agent and lawyer. This situation has been part of our relationship — our divorce and separation — for more than a year. I just want to talk to the right people to understand the next steps.”

“I’m confident everything will work out in the end. I’m not sure when that will be, but I want to sort it out before making an official statement with those who are helping me through this.”

Caroline H. Jerre recently claimed in a TikTok video that her husband had been abusive, asserting, “I finally learned about his issues and stopped tolerating the abuse, so I’ve been raising our two boys by myself.” She was seen embracing their sons in the video.

The San Francisco Giants quickly released a statement in response to the allegations following Caroline’s post. “We are aware of these serious accusations,” the team said. “We’re in communication with MLB. Such claims fall under their jurisdiction, so we will refrain from further comments.”

Giants manager Bob Melvin also addressed the matter regarding Hoell before the Saturday game. “We’re aware of the situation. He spoke to me about it last night,” Melvin said. “We’ve consulted with MLB, and right now, it’s in their hands, so we can’t say much more.”

This season, Hoell has a record of 1-1 with a 4.66 ERA over six appearances, including his first major league start on June 8. Overall, his career stats show a 7-8 record with a 4.80 ERA across 144 1/3 innings.

MLB’s domestic violence policy allows for a committee to enact administrative leave for up to seven days during an investigation if there is no criminal case. Currently, Hoell remains active, but further disciplinary action may arise depending on MLB’s findings.
