Anne Wilson Shares That Supporting Morgan Wallen Is an Opportunity to Present Jesus to Many

Anne Wilson to Open for Morgan Wallen

Dove Award-winning artist Anne Wilson has expressed her thrill over the chance to open for country star Morgan Wallen this summer, saying it feels like a dream come true. She is eager to share her message of God’s love with both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Wilson is set to kick off the tour at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington, on July 25-26, followed by performances at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on August 1-2. These are both large NFL venues, typically hosting over 60,000 fans.

Wilson has made a name for herself in the Christian Country music scene, especially with her recent album, Rebel, which has seen significant crossover success. Last year, she received a nomination for a CMT Music Award in the Female Video of the Year category for her song Rain in the Back View.

“He’s the artist of my dreams,” Wilson shared in an interview. “I can’t wait to spread the gospel in front of a stadium full of people; the excitement is overwhelming.”

Wallen, widely regarded as a leading figure in the country music industry, has consistently held multiple spots on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, with millions of Spotify listeners each month. He set a record in May with 37 songs appearing on the Billboard Hot 100.

Wilson burst onto the music scene in 2021 with her debut single, My Jesus. She has since leaned more into country sounds with her second album, Rebel, reflecting the influences from her upbringing.

“I’m thrilled to connect with a larger audience and share the gospel through my music,” she noted. “It’s incredible to hear my songs played on country radio—it really adds to the experience for me. I just want to spread the message of hope that Jesus offers, and I see this as a great opportunity.”

Wilson feels that her music has helped bridge the gap between faith and mainstream appeal. “I cherish the Christian community and enjoy sharing Jesus with everyone. But I also feel a calling to take that message beyond just the Christian market,” she explained. “It’s important for my music to sound authentically country while expressing these themes.”

Over the next few months, Wilson will be quite busy not only touring but also promoting her new single, The Story of God. She has over 20 tour dates lined up and is currently working on a new album scheduled for release later this year.

“I think this record is my favorite so far, and I’m genuinely excited about it,” she said.

Wilson continues to resonate with audiences, aiming to share her journey of faith and identity through her music.
