Bus for women's forum reportedly egged at Title IX event in Santa Fe

The Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) reported that their custom tour bus was vandalized with eggs while at an event in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Tuesday. This was part of a celebration for the 53rd anniversary of Title IX, which included a notable appearance by U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. The bus, designed to promote the “Her Game Legacy” message, did not have any signatures or handwritten notes on it, including from McMahon herself.

Despite the festive atmosphere, the group stated that their bus was targeted while it was parked. Photos shared indicated that there were eggshells left behind, which showed some dirt on them as well.

Victoria Coley, the vice president of IWF Communications, addressed the incident, emphasizing that recent activists in Santa Fe have been disruptive, but asserted that the IWF will not back down from their mission to advocate for women’s sports and rights. The tour bus, featuring decorations to celebrate women’s sports, will continue its journey across all 33 counties in New Mexico.

Fox News Digital has made a records request to the Santa Fe Police Department regarding this incident. According to a statement from the IWF, an official case has been opened in connection to the vandalism.

This wasn’t the only hiccup during the event; the IWF also faced challenges with last-minute venue changes due to a prior site’s unreliability. Despite the chaos, McMahon commented positively, highlighting how the main event went surprisingly well. She noted it was a challenging day for event organizers, but she thought it turned out smoothly in the end.

Interestingly, a related incident occurred back in July 2024 when an IWF bus in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, was also vandalized, which stirred considerable attention. The group has previously cited similar patterns of disruption against their efforts. In fact, the messages from the vandals have included derogatory terms and slogans against women and femininity, showing a broader tension in the discourse surrounding women’s sports.
