Matt Gaetz's messages to his mother about Trump disclosed

Former Congressman Matt Gaetz reached out to his mother for guidance on how to handle President Trump. This interaction came to light amid various discussions where the TV personality also boasted about his real estate holdings, revealing he had “$500,000 in the bank.”

A 72-second video, shared by a TikTok user named “Tidesofmarch,” shows passengers filming Gaetz covertly on a flight, highlighting his text conversation on a larger screen.

The user captioned the video, “POV: You’re sitting behind Matt Gaetz and he’s texting mom.”

In the messages, Vicki Getz advised her son, saying, “Don’t criticize the president or what he does. His job is to keep us safe. Maga won’t tolerate that.”

She went on to caution, “Your time in Congress is finished… don’t jeopardize your media career,” referencing his role as the host of “The Matt Gaetz Show,” which he started in January.

Vicki also warned him, “The president was a good friend. He despises betrayal. Be clever, not stubborn.”

Gaetz countered, “I’m not criticizing him; I’m trying to guide him.”

He continued, expressing frustration about not being able to voice his thoughts. “People need to remember those who supported the Iraq war because of Bush. They bear some responsibility,” he said.

In response to his mother’s advice about navigating relationships with more prominent figures, Gaetz asserted, “DJT always combines private and public elements… I can handle that.”

The conversation shifted to his finances, where his mother asked, “How many times will you keep hitting a wall?”

Gaetz then boasted about his family and assets, declaring, “I’m a happy married man with a son on the way, two penthouse condos, a 1:1 debt to real estate assets, and $500,000 in cash.”

On the topic of Iran, he claimed the country has been “three months away from nuclear weapons since 1992.”

After the text exchange gained viral attention, Gaetz responded casually on X, mentioning, “It seems the person behind me during the flight recorded me without my consent. They caught me texting my mother about current events, family finances, and working on my laptop.”

He added, “This should be a reminder to everyone: call your mom! (and maybe invest in a screen protector).”

Gaetz, 43, left Congress last year when Trump considered him for the Attorney General position, which he later stepped back from amid rumors regarding his personal life.
