New Milestones in Fracking Support Energy Independence

WASHINGTON, DC — The US oil and gas sector’s “fracking revolution” has marked a significant milestone. Recently, the American Petroleum Institute (API) revealed a remarkable new record, shared during an event with energy secretary Chris Wright and Breitbart News.

Talking alongside Matt Boyle, head of the Breitbart News Washington Bureau, API CEO Mike Sommers highlighted the accomplishments of numerous experts and businesses linked to the Trade Association.

Over the past two decades, oil production in the U.S. has nearly tripled, and API member companies have recently achieved record horizontal drilling of up to seven miles, as noted by industry leaders.

“What a difference the last 20 years have made,” Sommers remarked, urging attendees to consider that in 2005, the U.S. was producing about 5 million barrels of oil daily.

“Now, it’s tripled,” he continued. “We’re producing approximately 13.5 million barrels a day. This growth is solely due to the fracking revolution spurred by innovations in the American oil and gas sector.”

He elaborated, “We’ve figured out how to drill a mile down, and we’ve just set a new seven-mile record to tap into various types of oil and gas found in the U.S.”

Regarding Wright, who ran for Trump, Sommers expressed, during a bipartisan Senate vote, that he “can’t think of an energy secretary with a better understanding of the U.S. energy landscape.”

During an earlier interview, Boyle commended President Donald Trump’s “energy dominant” policy, suggesting that current oil prices reflect this agenda’s success.

“The United States is now not only the leading oil producer worldwide but also the largest natural gas producer, bolstered by sensible energy policies,” he added.

Wright pointed out, “Everyone acknowledges that America’s energy exports are set to expand. They face no imminent threats,” emphasizing that the Trump administration is reversing the detrimental policies toward the oil and gas sector imposed by former President Joe Biden.
