Indiana Fever Triumphs Over Seattle Storm
In an exciting matchup in Seattle, Aliya Boston shone brightly, scoring a career-high 31 points, while Kelsey Mitchell contributed significantly with 26 points, including five three-pointers, as the Indiana Fever secured a 94-86 victory against the Seattle Storm.
Interestingly, Kate Clark had a tough night, managing just six points overall, which makes one wonder what went wrong. She hit all her three-point attempts but struggled to find the basket otherwise, finishing the night 0 for 13 on other shots.
Before this game, Boston’s best was 30 points against the Atlanta Dream back in September 2024. She also had another strong outing recently against the Las Vegas Aces, scoring 26 points.
The partnership of Mitchell and Boston was particularly impressive during a crucial third quarter, where Indiana outscored Seattle 30-19. Mitchell scored seven points in the quarter, while Boston added another eight, extending their lead in a way that Seattle, despite some effort, couldn’t quite recover from.
Lexie Hull also played a significant role with 15 points, and Damiris Dantas added 10 to the mix, showcasing a well-rounded team effort from Indiana, especially noteworthy given Clark’s recent challenges with her shooting. Oddly, she had only hit one of her last 23 three-point attempts, which is surprising for a player of her caliber.
Initially, Seattle set the pace, with Skylar Diggins leading the charge and scoring 22 points. They took an early lead at 18-12, thanks to Ezi Magbegor’s three-point play late in the first quarter. However, as the first half progressed, Indiana started to take control. Mitchell helped give them their biggest lead of the half with a clutch three-pointer just before halftime, putting them ahead 45-39.
Despite Clark’s struggles—she scored just two points before halftime—the Fever was determined to quiet the crowd, which included local sports legends like Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe.
