Tim McGraw Takes Break After Back Surgery

Country music star Tim McGraw is currently taking a break from performing as he recovers from back surgery. The 57-year-old announced that he would miss the upcoming Professional Bull Riders (PBR) event in Colorado, originally set for July 21st.

Instead, the band Cross Canadian Ragweed will step in for him during their performance at the event. This information was shared in a statement on their official Instagram account.

Interestingly, McGraw has faced various health challenges over the years. He mentioned that “the greatest disagreement” he seems to have is often related to music and his health choices.

In the wake of McGraw’s surgery, America’s country-rock band has reunited after a significant hiatus of 15 years, and they extended their well-wishes for his speedy recovery. They expressed excitement for their upcoming performance, promising an unforgettable night filled with great music alongside the bull riding competitions. The band hopes McGraw can rejoin them for future events.

Details around the reason for McGraw’s surgery remain unclear, but it’s noteworthy that he has previously shared updates about his health. During a podcast in May, he spoke about his history with multiple surgeries and the toll they have taken. He reflected on having undergone double knee replacements, back surgeries, and issues with his shoulders. McGraw mentioned it might be time to reconsider his future in performing due to these ongoing challenges.

As he focuses on recovery, he shared that his fitness routine requires more careful planning now. “I can’t just jump into things,” he said, and emphasized the need for intentionality in his movements. He mentioned doing cold plunges, infrared sauna sessions, and massages as part of his recovery routine.

Looking ahead, McGraw is set to kick off his tour on March 14th, 2024, with plans extending until October 25th, 2025. His commitment to music is clear, despite the hurdles he faces.
