'Cobra Kai' cast shares clips from fan event prior to biting incident

Enjoy before chewing.

On Sunday, “Cobra Kai” stars Martin Kove and Alicia Hannah-Kim offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse on social media from the Hwang Kim convention. In a surprising twist, 37-year-old Hannah Kim accused 78-year-old Kove of biting her arm.

Kove shared an Instagram clip showing him signing a fan’s “Cobra Kai” poster, seeming pretty relaxed before the incident unfolded. “It’s eternal. Cobra Kai will never die,” he commented in the post.

Hannah-Kim also posted about her convention experience, sharing two clips that captured some fun moments. The first showed her at the airport, where she mused about carrying her dog in her backpack while asking if it counted as a “business position.” The second video featured her and some co-stars, including Tanner Buchanan and Rayna Valladingham, excitedly opening Popmart’s Labubu Toys. “Is the office party?” she quipped.

However, things took a concerning turn when Hannah Kim alleged that Kove bit her arm during an interaction at their booth. Reports suggest that the incident occurred when she greeted him by tapping him on the shoulder. According to police information, Hannah Kim claimed Kove suddenly grabbed her arm and bit it, asserting that he then proceeded to kiss the spot where he had bitten her.

Bodycam footage depicted discussions between Hannah Kim and police outside the convention center, where she expressed the seriousness of the incident. “You’ve left a mark on my body,” she said, questioning whether Kove thought this was all a playful act for someone his age. She also asked him if he had “grown in a ditch,” which adds a curious touch to the whole exchange.

Kove, who expressed regret about his actions, conveyed an apology to Hannah Kim while interacting with officers. He was made aware that she intended to document the incident for future reference rather than to file formal charges.

In a statement released later, Kove offered a full apology, acknowledging the unsettling nature of the incident. “I deeply regret and apologize for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia, a truly kind and wonderful person. She didn’t deserve this,” he shared.

He added, “I always respected her and considered her a very professional and talented colleague on ‘Cobra Kai.’ I was playful at the moment, but I went too far and there was no excuse for my actions.”

The franchise, a continuation of the iconic “Karate Kid” films, has entertained audiences for six seasons from 2018 to 2025.
