AIPAC Plans to Challenge Rep. Thomas Massey in 2026 Elections

The American Israeli Public Relations Committee (AIPAC) is set to expel Republican Rep. Thomas Massey from Kentucky in the upcoming 2026 elections.

According to a source, AIPAC is planning to actively recruit candidates and initiate a primary challenge against Massey.

“I know there are foreign lobbyists conducting push polls and seeking another candidate to oppose me, as they disapprove of foreign aid and endless conflicts,” Massey stated.

He added that previous attempts by these lobbyists have been unsuccessful, and he anticipates the same outcome this time around.

Massey has been an outspoken figure regarding U.S. involvement in the conflict between Israel and Iran. He opposed a recent U.S. strike on an Iranian nuclear facility and deemed Trump’s actions unconstitutional. However, he noted that he does not support Democratic lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s reactions to Trump’s actions.

In a social media post, Trump mentioned that he will be campaigning against Massey personally, indicating that dedicated “American Patriots” would challenge him in the primaries.

Trump followed this up with another post, expressing his desire for Massey to be removed from his position as soon as possible.

A Axios report noted that Trump’s team has been scouting for Republicans looking to take on Massey.

Massey has expressed disapproval of various Trump policies, including those related to the Israel-Iran situation. Recently, he collaborated with a California Democratic representative to introduce a resolution aimed at preventing Trump from engaging in “illegal hostilities” against Iran.

He was also one of two Republicans in Congress to vote against a major infrastructure bill, voicing concerns about its effect on the national deficit.

Before the vote, Trump criticized Kentucky legislators, suggesting that Massey doesn’t grasp the workings of government and insinuating that he should be dismissed from his role.

Massey appeared recently on Theo Von’s podcast and commented on AIPAC’s influence, saying he believes it to be the most effective lobbying group in Washington, D.C. He emphasized that while participation is allowed, foreigners should not interfere in U.S. political matters.

AIPAC was contacted for comment but did not respond prior to publication.
