Interestingly, Anna Wintour, a significant figure in fashion, isn’t on the guest list for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s extravagant wedding. However, she has been instrumental in selecting the bride’s gown.
On Thursday, Wintour announced her departure as editor-in-chief of American Vogue after 37 years, while also confirming that Sanchez is making her own choices regarding the wedding dress.
Sanchez, 55, is rumored to be wearing Dolce & Gabbana for the $50 million wedding set in Italy, making quite a statement.
According to insiders, Wintour played a crucial role in guiding Sanchez through her dress selection.
Sources have noted that Sanchez tends to favor designers with whom she has a longstanding connection, which makes sense given her career in journalism.
Bezos is expected to don tuxedos from prominent Italian brands as well, according to reports.
Although Wintour was invited to the wedding in Venice, she won’t be attending due to her travel commitments this month.
However, there are indications that Wintour’s influence will still be present in how the wedding is covered in Vogue.
This collaboration isn’t entirely unexpected given Wintour’s long friendship with Bezos, who previously sponsored the Met Gala in 2012.
Sanchez received Wintour’s blessing when she attended last year’s Met Gala with her fiancé.
Since arriving in Italy, Sanchez has made quite an impression at various pre-wedding events, wearing a Cia Parelli Haute Couture gown for a rehearsal dinner.
The couple, who already had a legal marriage in the U.S., is set to celebrate again in Italy on Friday night.
Attendees include a slew of celebrities like Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Oprah Winfrey, and Diane von Furstenberg.
Orlando Bloom is reportedly in Italy as well, which adds another layer of intrigue following his recent split from Katy Perry. Meanwhile, Perry is on tour in Australia but was sweetly acknowledged by Sanchez in a message on Instagram, stating, “We miss you.”
