49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir taken into custody following a parking conflict with police

Demo Are Noir, a cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers, was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday evening and charged with resisting a peace officer, according to reports.

A source from law enforcement mentioned that police responded to a call and approached Lenoir along with another individual, Marcus Cunningham.

Officers reportedly noticed a firearm inside Cunningham’s vehicle, raising suspicions of potential criminal activity.

Cunningham is said to have thrown a key toward Lenoir during their interaction. When the police requested Lenoir to hand over the keys, he refused, leading to his arrest around 5:30 PM, as per records.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Lenoir was released from custody the following morning and is set to appear in court next month.

Cunningham faces charges for possession of a concealed firearm in the vehicle.

Lenoir, 25, was picked in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon and has become a key player for the team’s defense.

Last season, his performance earned him a five-year, $92 million contract extension.

He achieved a career-best of 85 tackles over 15 games last season, along with two interceptions and nine defended passes.

Overall, Lenoir’s career stats include 265 tackles and six interceptions across 62 games.

His upcoming court date in July comes as the 49ers begin preparations for the 2025 season, which could impact his availability.

The team has already seen the departure of vital defensive players like Dre Greenlaw, Charvarius Ward, and Talano Hufanga during the offseason.

Last season, San Francisco finished with a 6-11 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020, and will open the new season against the Seahawks on September 7th.
