Katie Couric Critiques Lauren Sanchez’s Wedding Attire

Katie Couric didn’t hold back when it came to commenting on Lauren Sanchez’s wedding style. She took to social media to criticize both the gown and the hair, expressing her disapproval in a rather sharp tone.

“Welcome to the ’80s—when big hair and extravagant fashion were all the rage. Looks like that trend is making a comeback,” she remarked.

Her remark followed Sanchez’s marriage to Jeff Bezos at a grand celebration in Venice, Italy, which took place on a Friday. The comment was made on an Instagram post by Jack Schlossberg, son of Caroline Kennedy, who had shared a Vogue cover featuring Sanchez.

Coursing through the comments, Couric couldn’t resist adding her own two cents about the bridal look. An hour after the initial post, she referred to the hair as “sticky,” a playful nod to the iconic hairstyles of the ’80s, likening it to something from “Sex and the City.”

Some others joined the conversation, echoing Couric’s sentiments with remarks like, “Spot On. Money Can’t Buy Your Class,” and “Imagine marrying one of the richest men and opting for such an unattractive dress.” It seems the criticism was flowing freely.

However, not everyone was on board with the negative comments. A few defended the new bride, arguing that she looked beautiful. “I think she looks stunning. The dress is fabulous! People should just let her enjoy her day,” one commenter said.

Another supporter added, “If it makes her feel great on her special day, then that’s all that matters.”

As the conversation unfolded, some commenters turned their focus toward Couric, questioning her need for such harsh remarks. “I’ve noticed many educated women criticizing Lauren Sanchez for her ‘class.’ But isn’t it unclassy to mock others?” one critique suggested.

Another person hinted that Couric’s comments could stem from a feeling of being overlooked, especially since she wasn’t part of the high-profile guest list. “I don’t think you were invited, Katie, ha ha,” came the response.
