Dylan Harper assures that the Spurs will reach the playoffs next season.

Dylan Harper has set some lofty goals for his new team.

The standout from Rutgers made these remarks at his introductory press conference with the Spurs on Saturday.

“Things are going to change really quickly,” Harper told the media. “We’re going to make the playoffs. Our group is super exciting for Spurs fans and everyone else. There’s a lot to anticipate. The sky’s the limit for this squad we have.”

Alongside his bold outlook, Harper made history by calling out his new teammates Victor Wembanyama and Stefon Castle, earning the title of the year in NBA history.

At just 19, Harper has the potential to become the third consecutive winner of the Spurs Award—an achievement no other NBA team has managed.

“I don’t feel pressure to win Rookie of the Year, but I certainly want to pursue that,” Harper mentioned. “That’s definitely a goal of mine. Perhaps my biggest aim is to improve every day, to take things step by step, and learn from everyone I can.”

He also highlighted the legacy of Spurs legends he encountered during his first training session, emphasizing the significance of playing for such a storied franchise.

“It’s a different experience looking at Tim Duncan, Greg Popovich, and Manu Ginobili during workouts,” Harper noted. “This is one of those teams you dream of playing for. Their dynasty is remarkable, and I want to help add to those banners.”

In his lone season with the Scarlet Knights, Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, earning a spot on the All-Big Ten team in his freshman year.

Set to debut in the California Summer League on July 5th, Harper expressed his determination to “win every game we play.”

“I’m focused on my confidence and the effort I’ve put in,” he said. “I believe I’m one of the hardest workers here. I know the level of work I’ve done, but staying humble is key—everything can change in an instant.”
