Alicia Hannah Kim is opening up about a dispute with her “Cobra Kai” co-star, Martin Kove.
A week after Kove, 78, was seen in an Instagram video shared by Hannah Kim, 37, at a fan convention in Washington, she expressed gratitude to everyone who reached out following the incident.
“I know there’s a lot going on in the world right now, so I’ll keep this brief,” Hannah Kim stated. “I had a great time at the convention this summer. Meeting all of you in person was wonderful. Special thanks to Taylor for being my handler and looking after me throughout the weekend.”
“But this was a serious event,” she added. “No one wants to experience being attacked, whether at work or elsewhere.”
Despite their disagreement, she emphasized that her experience does not reflect her views on “Cobra Kai.”
The incident reportedly took place during the Summer CON event. Before tensions rose, both actors were seen smiling in various clips from the event. According to police reports, Hannah Kim claimed Kove bit her arm when she tried to greet him at the booth. Witnesses noted that Kove allegedly bit her upper arm and then attempted to kiss her afterward. When pressed by police, Kove acknowledged the bite but insisted it was meant in jest. Body camera footage captured Hannah Kim confronting Kove, questioning if he “had grown up in a ditch.” Though she suffered visible bite marks, she opted not to file charges. Kove, who was escorted from the convention, later issued a statement apologizing for his behavior. “I truly regret my actions regarding the incident with Alicia. She’s a genuinely kind person who didn’t deserve to be put in this situation,” Kove said. “I have always respected her and considered her a talented colleague on ‘Cobra Kai’. What I thought was playful got out of hand, and there is simply no excuse for my behavior.”
