Rosie O’Donnell Critiques Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s Italian Wedding
Rosie O’Donnell shared her thoughts on the recent wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, describing the extravagant three-day celebration in Italy as excessive. She took to Instagram to share some photos from the affair and expressed her discontent with the gathering of wealthy elites.
In her post, O’Donnell remarked, “Bezos’ wedding. Seeing all these billionaires gather in all the excesses, it turned my stomach. He treats employees casually. No matter what metrics, he’s not a good person.” This opened the floodgates for more critiques, including comments about Sanchez’s appearance and a nod to Bezos’s ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, whom she seemed to favor.
O’Donnell further mentioned, “And his fake fembot wife. Who does it look like that? Why does he choose her? After the salt of Mackenzie on Earth. It appears from here that he sold his soul from here. The devil smiles at his conquest,” which made her feelings about the wedding pretty clear.
Continuing her commentary on her Substack account, she noted that, although Bezos was raised by a single mother and presumably understands the complexities of life, his wedding felt like a “photo pose that will leave you forgetting yourself. In a designer outfit. A ‘Vogue’ cover is ready.”
Moreover, O’Donnell commented on how the Trump administration has led to citizens feeling overly paralyzed, suggesting that excessive displays like Bezos’s wedding are indicative of a larger societal issue.
Interestingly, celebrity reactions to the wedding varied. While O’Donnell criticized it, Charlize Theron also expressed her irritation, saying at her recent block party, “I think we might be the only people who weren’t invited to Bezos’ wedding. But it’s okay because they suck, and we’re cool.” This moment added a touch of humor to the situation, highlighting that not everyone is enamored with the couple.
The wedding itself took place on June 27th on San Giorgio Maggiore Island and saw a star-studded guest list, including Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kim Kardashian, among others.
As of now, representatives for the newlyweds have not publicly responded to the critiques surrounding their lavish celebration.
