Keith Urban Ends Interview Over Nicole Kidman Question
Keith Urban recently found himself in an awkward situation during a Zoom interview. While discussing his wife, Nicole Kidman, he abruptly hung up after a question arose about her role in a racy film.
The Grammy-winning singer, who is 57, was a guest on “Haley & Max in the Morning” on Mix 102.3 when the hosts prepped him for what they described as “a very tricky… deep personal question.”
Host Hailey Peterson admitted to feeling uncomfortable with the topic, so co-host Max Burford took the reins. He posed a question regarding Urban’s thoughts on seeing Zac Efron, Kidman’s co-star, in romantic scenes on their popular project, “A Family Affair,” which premiered on Netflix last year.
Despite the buildup, Urban didn’t respond before the interview was cut off. The producer mentioned they were disconnected, suggesting it was a decision made by Urban’s team to avoid the sensitive question.
Peterson expressed her belief that this was indeed the case, reacting dramatically as she realized Urban was no longer on the call.
The discussion then shifted to whether Urban held a grudge against the show, although a representative for him hasn’t commented on the situation yet.
Urban has been married to Kidman, who is 58, since June 2006, and they recently celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary. Their daughter shared sweet sentiments on Instagram that day, reflecting the family’s bond. Kidman has spoken out about grappling with intimate scenes in films, indicating it can be challenging.
She once expressed feeling burned out while filming, stating, “I don’t want to do this anymore. Don’t come near me.” It seems that such moments, both in her career and her marriage, lead to some complexities and emotions.
