Lily Allen reveals she has had 'four or five' abortions

British singer Lily Allen opened up during a podcast episode on Monday, revealing that she’s had several abortions, though she’s uncertain about the exact number. Discussing birth control with her co-host Miquita Oliver on the “Miss Me?” podcast, Allen mentioned how she frequently found herself pregnant in her early twenties, which led her to seek multiple abortions.

“Abortion. I’ve had a few, but honestly, I can’t keep track of how many,” Allen shared, jokingly referencing Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way.” She speculated that it might be around four or five.

During the conversation, Allen noted, “I have an IUD now, and I remember the third, maybe the fourth… before it was just chaos.” Her lighthearted tone made Oliver chuckle, revealing she had never known about Allen’s experiences. The two exchanged thoughts, with Allen estimating, “I don’t remember, but I’d say five, perhaps?”

Allen discussed how society has become more open about such topics, highlighting that she felt no judgment in sharing her story. She recounted a humorous memory about a man who offered to pay for one of her abortions, which at the time, she found somewhat romantic. “Looking back, though, I don’t really see it that way anymore,” she said, laughing about it.

In past public appearances, Allen has been a vocal advocate for abortion rights. At the 2022 Glastonbury Music Festival, she controversially dedicated her performance of “F— You” to a judge who voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, passionately expressing her disdain.
