Elon Musk Criticized by Steve Bannon Over Political Statements

Steve Bannon, a former senior adviser to Donald Trump, has taken aim at Elon Musk, slamming him for his ongoing critiques of Trump’s “big and beautiful bill.” Musk’s suggestion to start a third political party has not gone over well with Bannon.

Even though Trump is no longer in office, Bannon continues to wield influence through various media platforms like his podcast, Warroom.

Musk has been vocal about his disapproval of the “big and beautiful bill,” particularly pointing out its impact on raising the debt cap to a staggering $5 trillion. Some suggest that Musk’s dissatisfaction stems from the bill’s lack of support for the electric vehicle (EV) initiative—a cause Trump has historically opposed. Among Tesla’s major investors are firms like Vanguard and BlackRock.

Despite Musk’s criticisms, he has continued to attack Trump’s spending plans.

“This bill shows insane spending. It increases the debt cap to $5 trillion. We live in a one-party system. It’s time for a new political party that actually cares about people,” Musk tweeted recently.

He also mentioned, “If this absurd spending bill gets approved, a new American Party will emerge the next day. Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat Uniparty.”

Musk has made it clear that he feels prepared to challenge any Congress members who campaigned on cutting expenses but voted to increase national debt instead.

“They’ll lose their primaries if I have anything to say about it,” Musk warned.

He reiterated his plan to establish a new political party should Trump’s policies advance.

Additionally, Musk shared data that illustrates the escalating national debt under both Democratic and Republican leadership, implying that they operate as one unified party rather than two separate entities.

Bannon, responding on his podcast, criticized Musk for his newfound stance against Trump. He remarked on Musk’s comments about the bill, labeling it the “porky pig bill.” Bannon also claimed Musk had promised to eliminate $2 trillion in waste, fraud, and abuse, but ended up cutting just $1 trillion.

“Some of Musk’s supporters claim to have saved $160 billion, but I’ve yet to see that amount,” Bannon added.
