Fan Banned from Diamondbacks Games After Multiple Incidents
It’s pretty awkward to interfere just once during a game in Arizona. But when it becomes a repeated issue? That’s another story.
Recently, the Diamondbacks decided to take action, banning a season ticket holder from Chase Field for the rest of the 2025 season following “multiple offenses” over the last few years. This decision was partly prompted by yet another case of fan interference.
The latest incident unfolded during a match against the Giants on a Monday night. A fan, identified as Dave McCaskill, reached over the left field wall with his glove after Christian Koss of the Giants hit a deep ball into the outfield.
McCaskill managed to hook the ball, which initially led to a home run being downgraded to a double after a review, and he was subsequently ejected from the stadium.
This was the final straw for the Diamondbacks when it came to McCaskill’s repeated disturbances.
“This particular fan has engaged in multiple offenses at Chase Field, leading to his ban from returning for the remainder of 2025,” the team stated. “He may be allowed back in 2026 if he complies with certain conditions and follows the fan code of conduct.”
Video evidence from Jomboy Media indicates that this fan has been involved in disruptive behavior over four consecutive seasons. Nonetheless, there remains a possibility for his return in 2026.
On Tuesday, McCaskill shared his perspective regarding his actions at the ballpark.
“First and foremost, I’m a D-backs fan,” he mentioned to Arizona Sports. “I lived in Arizona for a decade and retired from the military after 24 years. I caught a foul ball in my first year here. That really got me thinking, ‘I need to catch a home run next!'”
He went on to explain that while he admires ballhawk Zack Hample, he never intends to interfere with the game. “I’ve left the stadium three times, and two of those were real close calls, similar to what happened last night,” he noted.
