Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s Wedding Echoes Royal Affair
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez recently celebrated their stunning wedding, which intriguingly mirrored the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Their three-day event included a memorable performance by Ellie Goulding on June 27th, reminiscent of her appearance at William and Kate’s reception back in 2011.
During that royal affair, Goulding sang a cover of Elton John’s classic “Your Song,” while at Bezos and Sanchez’s wedding, she once again wowed guests with the same track. However, for the newlyweds’ first dance, Matteo Boseli, son of renowned opera singer Andrea Bocelli, delivered a heartfelt rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
Interestingly, William and Kate’s first wedding reception, hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth II, contrasts with the more intimate gathering at Buckingham Palace led by King Charles. Notably, Elton John, a close friend of Princess Diana, attended that second reception, showcasing a deep connection between the two star-studded events.
While Goulding hasn’t publicly commented on her performance at Bezos and Sanchez’s wedding, she has shared her past experiences singing for the royal couple. In a prior interview, she mentioned how she was surprised to sing at their wedding, expressing her nervousness at the time but ultimately feeling grateful for the opportunity.
Reflecting on her past performances, Goulding recalled the thrill of singing “Your Song” during William and Kate’s first dance, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. She performed additional songs like “Starry Eyed” alongside covers of popular hits during the royal wedding.
The recent wedding reception was an extravagant affair, featuring Usher and a set by DJ Cassidy and DJ Mei Kwok. Celebrities flocked to the occasion, including the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brady, and Kim Kardashian, making it an event to remember.
The similarities and connections between these high-profile weddings certainly add an intriguing layer to the celebrations—linking modern glamour with royal tradition.
