Brad Pitt discusses the Chiefs-Eagles rivalry with Bradley Cooper on the Kelce podcast

Brad Pitt Speaks on Eagles Fandom While Presenting Award to Bradley Cooper

The latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce included a surprise guest: the iconic actor Brad Pitt. He shared some interesting moments related to his friendship with fellow actor Bradley Cooper, who’s a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Pitt described an experience where he presented Cooper the Outstanding Performer of the Year award for his film, “Maestro,” during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. He reminisced about the significance of this moment, mentioning, “I’m friends with Bradley Cooper. He’s your main Eagles fan.” Pitt seemed a bit playful about his role and acknowledged not having any real influence over the game while teasing the Eagles’ season trajectory.

Amid joking references to the Eagles and the Chiefs, Pitt reflected on the pressures of awards season, saying, “If he doesn’t get it, it’s fine; he’s used to it. He is a Philadelphia Eagles fan.” This somewhat light-hearted jab carried a deeper sense of camaraderie.

After a recent Super Bowl victory for the Eagles, the mood shifted. Cooper, who didn’t miss the chance to tease Pitt, apparently responded with humor after seeing Pitt’s earlier comments: “Man, that’s f–ed up,” which showed the playful rivalry between the two actors.

Pitt recounted a, well, “not-so-great” two months that followed the Super Bowl, remarking, “He graciously hurt my spirit,” hinting at the friendly banter stirred up by the Eagles’ win over the Chiefs.

As Pitt, born in Oklahoma and shaped in Missouri, discussed his own love for the Chiefs, he seemed genuinely passionate, saying, “You feel this pride that life isn’t always out there for us.” This blend of competitiveness and appreciation for the game leaves room for honest emotion in sports—something fans know well.

Pitt even gave Travis some humorous advice, telling him to wear oven mitts to keep his hands warm until the season kicks off. It’s those little moments, the care and light-heartedness, that often remind us why we connect over sports.
