Before President Donald Trump signed a significant piece of legislation, an event featuring a B-2 bomber and two F-35s took place to honor US military personnel, including those involved in Operation Midnight Hammer.
This event was seen as a pivotal moment for national morale and military recognition. In his speech, Trump emphasized the nation’s pride, rising enlistments, foreign policy progress, and recent military achievements.
“It was an incredible mission, especially when you see that magnificent aircraft and others alongside it. I say this with immense pride, and honestly, polls are showing that our country has regained its pride after many years,” he stated.
Trump highlighted the increase in enlistments as a sign of renewed faith in the military.
“Our military is now the most sought-after career. Just a year ago, there was a reluctance to join the military; people weren’t even keen on becoming firefighters,” he remarked.
“Now, we’re consistently hitting record enlistments. Our ranks are full.”
He also noted his recent trips abroad as additional proof of America’s strength on the global stage.
“I recently attended NATO meetings, and it was amazing. They agreed to increase their financial commitments to over $1 trillion annually. They went from spending 2% to close to 5%, which many thought was impossible. Leaders from various countries told me that a year ago, America seemed defeated, and now we’re seen as the most influential nation in the world.”
Trump added, “That’s just the reality, and we like it that way. It’s only going to get better. I promise you that.”
Following an impressive aerial tribute, Trump conveyed his appreciation to the military and reinforced a sense of national unity.
“After showcasing our might, I say: God bless the American military, and God bless America. We haven’t witnessed such spirit in decades,” he stated.
Moving on, Trump discussed Operation Midnight Hammer, labeling it one of the most successful military operations ever.
He recognized 150 airmen and their families at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, expressing gratitude: “Thank you. We owe you everything. Fantastic job. Truly remarkable.”
He described the mission’s precision and stealth, contrasting it with previous errors.
“This was one of the most flawless military campaigns in history. Years ago, we had helicopters colliding; it was a catastrophe,” Trump remarked. “In contrast, this time everything went smoothly. We didn’t lose any aircraft or personnel. Those aircraft were perfectly stealthy, flying through a very hostile area without being detected.”
Before signing the bill, Trump praised the mission’s execution and addressed the service members who were part of it.
“It was a total success, and even the media has started to acknowledge it, albeit reluctantly. These brave pilots displayed what it truly means to confront the enemy, fight, and win,” Trump said.
“We honor all service members who supported that mission. Thank you for being here.”
