Jason Kelce Celebrates Independence Day Amid Backlash
Jason Kelce, who embodies the spirit of many Americans on July 4th, shared his love for the holiday with some dazzling fireworks. Yet, it turned out that his celebration sparked considerable backlash on social media.
“I love the Fourth! It’s one of those rare days where we can put aside our differences and just enjoy what unites us. We are all Americans!” he posted on Instagram, along with a few videos showcasing the fireworks.
However, his post quickly attracted a flurry of negative comments. Just hours after President Trump signed the “Big Beautiful Building,” many former NFL players and others reacted strongly in the comments section.
One commenter highlighted the disconnect: “Do you really want to talk about differences? One side wants to help kids, while the other… well, you get the idea.”
Another user lamented the harsh reality for so many: “This isn’t the real life for a lot of people. A terrible bill just passed, and it feels like a slap in the face. It’s hard to comprehend, but many will really struggle because of this.”
Some labeled his post as “tone-deaf,” pointing out that the nation isn’t living its best life at the moment. “I love the celebrations,” one user mentioned, “but it seems disconnected from the suffering many are facing.”
In total, his post received over 2,000 comments—quite a jump from his previous posts, which collectively garnered a little over 1,000.
Interestingly, Jason has typically kept his political views to himself. His brother, Travis Kelce, has recently been in the spotlight, especially with Travis’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, showing support for Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign.
