Jackie Heinrich, a senior White House correspondent, has announced her engagement to Representative Brian Fitzpatrick from Pennsylvania. Heinrich shared the news with People Magazine, revealing that Fitzpatrick proposed during a trip to southern France on June 29th.

The couple had a very early start, leaving Nice at 1:30 AM. They ran for over two hours, catching the sunrise amidst the Lavender Fields in Valentol. It was there, under the beautiful sky, that Fitzpatrick got down on one knee, with a photographer nearby to capture the moment.

“It was simply breathtaking,” Heinrich reflected. “The fragrance was overwhelming—a memory that will stay with me. I can’t quite express how beautiful it was; it truly felt like a fairy tale.”

Fitzpatrick’s elaborate proposal was nearly derailed by a significant political event happening back home, where President Trump was focused on passing a major bill by the July 4 deadline. Despite the chaos, the couple enjoyed their time in France, packing in visits to several cities in just two days of their intended ten-day trip.

Heinrich described Fitzpatrick’s planning skills as “incredible,” saying that she was very impressed with how everything came together. “Honestly, it was unforgettable,” she added.

The two began dating in 2021, and Heinrich has affectionately referred to her fiancé as “the most principled, thoughtful, and wonderful person I know.” Fitzpatrick, who became a congressman in 2016, brings her closer to her faith, according to Heinrich.

“What I love most is his intellect and the way he approaches problems,” she said. “He is genuinely sweet and kind.”

Heinrich revealed that the engagement ring, which comes from Attos Estate Jewellers in Portland, Maine, was a surprise highlight of their trip. Fitzpatrick left a committee meeting to take a crucial call about the perfect diamond he’d chosen.
