Calls for Epstein Files Release Intensify

Representative Jamie Ruskin (D-MD) is increasing his demand for the Trump administration to unveil more information regarding the financier Jeffrey Epstein. He pointed to comments made by tech billionaire Elon Musk, who suggested that President Trump has connections to suspicious files related to Epstein.

Ruskin stated during a Wednesday interview on MSNBC’s “All About Chris Hayes,” “Elon Musk said Donald Trump is on Epstein’s file, and that’s the real reason they haven’t been released.”

As a leading Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, Ruskin emphasized that all materials concerning Epstein should be made public, but particularly those tied to Musk’s assertions.

He added, “We’ve heard incredible claims from Trump’s Attorney General and various Republicans about politicians and wealthy individuals linked to Epstein over the years. We want to see all of it released.” He urged, “At the very least, they should disclose what Elon Musk referred to.”

This week, Ruskin rallied his Democratic colleagues in the Judiciary Committee, advocating for the Justice Department to make public the report from former special counsel Jack Smith regarding the investigation into the classified documents at Mar-a-Lago and any Epstein files that mention President Trump.

He accused Pam Bondi, the Trump administration’s spokesperson, of shielding potentially harmful information.

In a letter addressed to Bondi, signed by 15 fellow Democrats, Ruskin wrote, “The administration has repeatedly claimed that President Trump is ‘the most transparent and accessible president in American history.’ Yet, the Justice Department has consistently failed to uphold this promise and continues to obscure information that could be damaging to President Trump.”

He expressed concern over a pattern of using the DOJ to hide evidence of Trump’s alleged wrongdoing. “We request that the Smith Report be released immediately and that any references to Donald Trump in the Epstein files be made available,” he stated.

This letter follows the release of a memo earlier this week, which concluded that Epstein’s death was a suicide and did not contain any client list.

This directly challenges Musk’s claims about Trump being included in Epstein’s files, suggesting that this is why they remain unpublished.

In response, Trump has denied any close ties to Epstein, and during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, he commented skeptically, “Are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That’s incredible.”
