Police chief's daughter claims he and others engaged in 'ritualistic' abuse and years of sexual assault, according to court documents

The daughter of the New Jersey State Police Chief claims he repeatedly raped her for more than a decade as part of a cult-like “ritual” involving a neighbor, as stated in a lawsuit she filed.

Courtney Tamany’s accusations against Leonia Police Chief Scott Tamagny, his neighbor Kevin Slevin, and others have divided the small community in Bergen County. Both men assert that extensive investigations, including federal scrutiny, deemed the claims unfounded.

Slevin has responded to Courtney’s allegations, claiming that her statements have damaged his reputation.

Despite this, Courtney has taken her claims public—appearing on various podcasts and social media platforms to share her experiences of alleged sexual abuse, which has sparked a petition on change.org calling for her father’s suspension.

The 20-year-old asserts that her father and Slevin physically abused her at home and participated in “ritual” activities in the nearby woods, threatening her mother if she ever spoke out about it.

The lawsuit describes an incident where men wearing masks allegedly assaulted her in the woods of Rockland County, New York.

The abuse reportedly began in 2009 when Courtney was about four years old, continuing until she was 15 in 2020.

Furthermore, Courtney alleges that both her sisters were also victims of abuse and that their father drugged their mother before attacking her while she remained unaware, using earplugs.

Her mother, Jeanne Tamagny, has joined Courtney in the lawsuit and is currently seeking a divorce from her husband.

Courtney claims she suppressed memories of the abuse as a coping mechanism. It wasn’t until she experienced genital pain and consulted doctors that she began to recall what had happened to her. The doctors’ inquiries about possible sexual abuse reportedly triggered those memories.

Her therapist subsequently reported the abuse to authorities in 2022, according to court documents.

In an explosive podcast in April titled “We Are All Mad,” she recounted these memories, alleging that her father’s “pedigree” was linked to a demonic cult in North Jersey that engaged in ritualistic abuse and other horrific acts.

Courtney describes a “tunnel” used by local cultists to conduct their rituals secretly.

She detailed in the podcast that these rituals involved not only human activity but also animal sacrifices, and she expressed fears for her safety, questioning why she might not be next.

Among other sinister activities, Courtney described a disturbing “game” that involved children in the woods, which she insisted was a guise for abuse.

She stated that they would release children for a so-called “hunters and gathering” game, which was, in fact, a trap designed for violence.

Additionally, Courtney alleged that her father used his law enforcement position to maintain control over her and that her cries for help were always ignored.

In her lawsuit, Courtney not only targets her father and Slevin but also the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the State of New Jersey, and various child protection services.

Both Chief Tamany and Slevin firmly deny the allegations.

According to Slevin’s attorney, the accusations are entirely fabricated, emphasizing that the case has been investigated thoroughly by multiple authorities and found baseless.

“Now that she’s dissatisfied with law enforcement, she’s decided to take her claims to court,” Slevin’s lawyer stated.

His countersuit claims that Courtney’s allegations have caused him significant embarrassment and distress.

Similarly, Chief Tamany’s attorney labeled the claims as completely unfounded and defamatory.
