Kate Middleton misses Prince William's yearly polo match as she finds it hard to 'function normally' following her cancer fight

Kate Middleton is slowly reestablishing her royal commitments following her cancer treatment.

The 43-year-old princess of Wales didn’t attend her husband Prince William’s annual polo match on Friday.

Every year, William participates in the Royal Charity Polo Cup, an event aimed at raising money for various causes they support.

At the Guard Polo Club in Windsor, England, William played while wearing a blue jersey, white pants, and brown boots, finishing in fourth place.

Interestingly, Kate also missed the 2024 Polo Cup, although she did enjoy the event in 2023, where she appeared cheerful in a blue and white dress.

She has mentioned that it might take some time before she can fully resume her usual activities after battling cancer.

In March 2024, she disclosed her diagnosis of a serious illness.

“In January, I had major abdominal surgery in London, and at that point, my condition was thought to be non-cancerous,” she shared in a heartfelt video earlier.

However, subsequent tests revealed the presence of cancer, leading her medical team to recommend preventive chemotherapy, which she is currently undergoing.

Kate completed her cancer treatment in September 2024 after a notably challenging experience, which kept her away from significant events like the Royal Easter celebration.

Recently, she admitted that life post-treatment hasn’t quite returned to how it once was.

“You’re not necessarily under a clinical team, but you can’t function at home like you used to,” she mentioned during a visit to Colchester Hospital last week. “Having someone to help guide you through this transition is really important,” she added.

In June, Middleton’s connection to the British royal family was evident, though she unexpectedly withdrew from Royal Ascot, a long-standing horse racing event founded in the 18th century by Queen Anne.
