Alphabet’s Potential Revenue Surprises and Other Stock Updates

According to Mike Bailey from FBB Capital Partners Research, Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is one of the few stocks that could deliver unexpected revenue figures when it reports later this month. During the “Power Lunch” segment on Friday, Bailey highlighted Alphabet as one of three companies on his radar. He also mentioned Danaher, noting that it has a history of exceeding revenue expectations.

However, Life Science stocks, including those from Danaher, have experienced a nearly 11% decline so far in 2025. Bailey attributes this downturn to challenging comparisons stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic and some missteps related to acquisitions. Nevertheless, he expressed optimism that this trend might shift, particularly with a revenue beat anticipated on July 22nd. “As they navigate these tariff issues, it appears that this challenging phase could be coming to an end, potentially leading to positive results in the second quarter,” Bailey stated.

In another update, Progressive, the insurance company, has seen its stock rise by more than 2% this year. They are set to report their second-quarter results on Wednesday, with revenue expectations being relatively modest. “I think we’re in a solid position right now. Looking back over the last couple of months, Wall Street seemed to adjust estimates positively for April but has not been quite as aggressive for June,” he remarked.

Bailey anticipates a quarter with significant revenue growth of 60% to 70%, particularly from the car insurance sector. Results are expected on July 23rd, and investors will likely focus on the performance of the cloud and YouTube segments. “While there are some uncertainties, improving margins might also work in their favor, keeping everything else within Alphabet running smoothly. Based on their history, we could see another strong outcome in the coming weeks,” he added.
