The individual who claims the title of “King of All Pimps” gained notoriety for bringing Ashley Dupre into the limelight, a hooker who had connections with former Governor Eliot Spitzer. Spitzer’s scandalous past, notably dubbed “Luv Guv,” has left him facing potential criminal filings after long-standing disputes with various social media figures.
Recently, Jason Itzler, known online as “MrBased,” has been facing some serious legal issues. He confronted charges of harassment and making terrorist threats in two ongoing cases in Brooklyn, mainly concerning alleged threats towards YouTuber Alex Novell and failing to comply with a restraining order.
This week, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office decided to drop all charges against Itzler, who is 58 years old and boasts a following of 170,000 on TikTok and 151,000 on Instagram.
“All criminal charges have been fully dismissed,” Itzler’s attorney, Bedero, informed the Post.
While the DA’s office refrained from commenting on cases that are still sealed, it’s clear that Itzler’s legal battles have been quite the spectacle.
After years in the limelight for his controversial role in Spitzer’s scandal, Itzler has attempted to carve out a new identity online. His recent troubles began when Novell accused him of admitting to a murder connected to the 2010 death of University of Wisconsin student Julia Sumnicht.
Novell shared audio that supposedly featured Itzler confessing to providing drugs to Sumnicht during a Miami Beach event the evening of her death. Itzler, however, consistently denies any wrongful involvement in her death.
Following the charges, Itzler did plead guilty to a misdemeanor assault in Manhattan last November related to an altercation with Novell. This led Novell to file a lawsuit against him in Brooklyn Supreme Court for the Manhattan incident in March, and also to harass Itzler in a video. Intrigued by the fallout, Itzler then countersued Novell for damages, but it appears both cases have been resolved.
In the early 2000s, Itzler claimed to operate New York Confidential, a highly notorious prostitution ring, and was recognized for his connections within New York’s underground sex trade.
Dupre, who once maneuvered through her own scandalous history, has also transformed herself over the years. After a stint running a lingerie business in New Jersey, the 40-year-old has taken on the name Ashley Earle and now offers parenting tips and children’s videos to her 310,000 followers on TikTok.
Interestingly, her stepdaughter, Alix Earle—who hosts a podcast titled “Hot Mess”—is gaining remarkable traction on social media with a staggering 7.4 million followers on TikTok.
As for Novell, there was no immediate response to requests for comments on his situation.
