Trump Targets O’Donnell’s Citizenship in Feud
Former President Donald Trump has amplified his longstanding feud with comedian and actress Rosie O’Donnell. Recently, following O’Donnell’s move to Ireland, Trump suggested he might consider revoking her U.S. citizenship.
In a post on his social media platform, Trump stated, “I am seriously considering taking away her citizenship because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the greatest interests of our greatest nation.” He further described her as “a threat to humanity” and suggested that if O’Donnell prefers Ireland, she should stay there. “God blesses America!” he concluded.
O’Donnell was quick to respond. She shared a photo collage on Instagram featuring screenshots of Trump’s comments, captioning it with her own mix of critique and sarcasm. She expressed that Trump despises being challenged, claiming he is a dangerous man with a lack of compassion. “Liars are sexually abusing liars and serving themselves to do harm to our country,” she wrote. This comment reflects her long-standing opposition to Trump and the stances he represents.
In her various posts, O’Donnell called Trump a “criminal without mental disorders,” alleging he has deceived America over the years while enjoying fame as the host of *The Apprentice*. She vented her frustrations about feeling bullied due to their long-running feud, stating, “The US President always hated the fact that I was looking at him about who he was.”
As O’Donnell shared her indignation, she also referenced Trump’s past associations, including a photo with Jeffrey Epstein, who has a controversial history. “Hey Donald – are you rattling again?” she wrote, suggesting that Trump fears outspoken women.
This ongoing dispute has roots going back to 2006, when O’Donnell criticized Trump over a controversial Miss USA winner. Over the years, both have exchanged barbs publicly, with O’Donnell being quite vocal about her disdain for his policies and behavior, especially during his presidency.
Despite Trump’s harsh remarks, legal experts generally assert that O’Donnell’s citizenship is secure. The 14th Amendment affirms citizenship for those born in the U.S., and revoking it is a complex legal challenge, typically requiring evidence of fraud in naturalization processes.
O’Donnell herself has shared her experiences since moving to Ireland, emphasizing the kindness of the people there, while also expressing nostalgia for her life back in the U.S. She has confidently claimed her decision was for the best, both for herself and her family.
The feud continues to attract attention, as both figures maintain their stances in this public battle.
