Trump Reflects on His Presidency and Assassination Attempt
President Trump emphasized his desire to be remembered in a positive light once he is back in office.
In a recent interview with Fox News and “My Views with Lala Trump,” he remarked, “He’s a nice guy, but he saved our country.” He shared his feelings about a time when he thought the nation was on shaky ground, saying, “I really believed our country was falling for autumn.”
He went on to express uncertainty about the country’s current state: “I don’t know if it’s back or not. It was very close to the edge. And I really want to be known as the man who saved our country.”
As he kicks off his 2024 campaign, Trump paints a grim picture of the nation’s challenges, including the border crisis, inflation, and foreign policy issues under the Biden administration. These are key points he plans to address in a potential second term.
“When I saw the horror show we had for four years,” he lamented, claiming his first term was “amazing.” He also reflected, “Now we’re doing something even on another level.” A significant factor in his belief is the quality of his team this time around.
“This time there are really good people, and they get along with each other. They love each other, they love the country, and it’s smoother,” he added.
Interestingly, this interview took place just a day before the anniversary of a serious assassination attempt he faced. Last year, a bullet came alarmingly close to ending his life during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
He recounted the event as “unforgettable,” admitting that he was confused at the moment but escaped unharmed. “I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I was banged. I had no doubts about it. And fortunately, I came down quickly. People cried,” he remembered.
Despite the anxiety associated with the incident, Trump expressed confidence in his team. “I have great confidence in these people,” he stated.
He reflected on the assailant’s mistake, mentioning, “They must have had someone in the building.” Acknowledging the difficulties his team faced that day, he noted, “They had a rough day.”
