Quinshon Judkins, a rookie for the Browns, was arrested on Saturday. Police responded to a call regarding a battery incident and determined that, yes, it had occurred. I think they really had to figure things out on that front.
Officers arrived shortly after 9 a.m. at the location on West Cypress Creek Road. They spoke to the victim and subsequently arrested Judkins, who is 21 years old, for contact with the individual involved, as stated by Sergeant David Soika.
Details are a bit murky regarding where Judkins was at the time police communicated with the victim or when the incidents may have happened.
Judkins faces a misdemeanor charge for domestic battery, according to Soika’s statement. His jail records describe the charge as “Touch or Strike/Battery/Domestic violence.”
As of early Sunday afternoon, he remained in custody at a major jail in Broward County, with bail set at $2,500, according to the inmate log.
A spokesperson for the Browns mentioned in a statement on Saturday night that the team is aware of the situation and is gathering information.
Judkins was set for his first court appearance on Sunday morning, as reported by ESPN.
An NFL official confirmed they know of the incident but, interestingly, chose not to comment any further.
Judkins was picked 37th overall after a successful college season, where he earned praise for his performance, and he’s among the top running backs on the Browns’ roster. This comes after an interesting offseason involving Nick Chubb’s departure and Jerome Ford’s contract situation.
Having transferred from Ole Miss to Ohio State in 2024, Judkins had a notable college run with 14 touchdowns in his final season. Glen Cook, the assistant GM, noted how he embodies the style of football the team is aiming for — strong and physical, and he should ideally contribute in all aspects of the game.
However, it’s worth noting that Judkins hasn’t yet signed a contract with the Browns.
