Survey: Liberals Dwell in a Fantasy Where the Most Major Political Scandal Since Watergate is Ignored

The Perspective of Nicole Wallace on Political Events

Nicolle Wallace’s narrative positions her in a world where President Putin allegedly derailed Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, repeatedly infiltrating the Trump administration and undermining American democracy.

In her view, figures like John Brennan and James Comey are seen as unwavering truth-tellers. The documents produced by Christopher Steele, too, are treated as infallible.

Yet, in a place called reality, the notion of a Trump-Russia conspiracy has been widely acknowledged as a hoax.

You might think that after nearly a decade, many liberals would move beyond this narrative and perhaps start considering alternative media sources to understand the challenges Trump faced during his first term.

It’s a thought that lingers…

Interestingly, a recent Rasmussen poll indicates that, despite evolving public opinion, many liberals continue to inhabit a narrative shaped by sources like MSNBC and Nicolle Wallace, seemingly unaware of the supposed political scandal. Reports suggest that a significant majority still believes in the Trump-Russia conspiracy.

Specifically, 60% of registered Democratic voters are convinced that “the Trump campaign conspired with the Russian government to win the 2016 election.” Among liberals, that number rises to 69%. Furthermore, 56% of young Americans aged 18 to 29 share the belief that Trump likely colluded with Russia.

However, amidst this, there’s some acknowledgment of rationality; 57% of respondents think that intelligence officials involved in trying to target Trump should face legal repercussions. Moreover, 53% contend that “what the intelligence community has done to Donald Trump is a bigger scandal than Watergate.”

Ultimately, it’s both amusing and astonishing that nearly 70% of liberals still find merit in the Trump-Russia narrative after all this time.
