A mobster claims that suicide in Jeffrey Epstein's prison cell is 'impossible'

An inmate who was housed in the same prison where Jeffrey Epstein died expressed doubts about the possibility of suicide in that specific cell.

Michael Franzese, a former capo of the Colombo Crime Family, shared his perspective with News Nation. He spent seven months in the very cell where Epstein passed away, and he believes the design of the room makes suicide extremely difficult.

“There’s just no way you can actually take your own life in there,” Franzese stated. “You can’t hang yourself because there’s nothing to hang from—no fixtures in the ceiling or anything from the bed.”

He elaborated that the conditions are so restrictive that it would be nearly impossible, emphasizing, “Physically, it’s almost impossible to do that.”

Franzese, despite his claims, also acknowledged that a photograph of Epstein’s cell after his death revealed a two-tier ladder and a grid bar reaching up to the ceiling.

Epstein, who was 66, was found hanged in his cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial for charges related to child sex trafficking.

Prior to his death, Epstein had been placed on suicide watch after apparently attempting to take his life. He was then moved to a unit with stricter monitoring, where guards were required to regularly check on him.

However, those guards reportedly fell asleep during their shift, and Epstein died. Additionally, the camera that monitored the block was not functioning at the time.

Franzese is skeptical about the official accounts, saying, “I’ve spent eight years in prison, and I’ve never encountered a malfunctioning camera or an entire shift of guards neglecting their duties.”

He continued, “They’re always vigilant; even the act of going to the bathroom can feel embarrassing under such scrutiny.”

“I can’t buy the explanation, honestly. I have no stake in this other than my experiences, and it just doesn’t add up,” he remarked.

Since recent discussions surfaced regarding a client list from the Trump administration, debates around Epstein’s death and theories regarding high-profile sex traffickers have captured considerable attention in the media.

Attorney General Pam Bondy reaffirmed the official conclusion that Epstein’s death was a suicide, while the Justice Department released footage supposedly showing no one entered his area on the night he died.
