This year’s WNBA 3-Point Contest is bringing in some notable talent.
Kate Clark of the Fever has been announced as a participant for the 2025 event, according to the league’s announcement on Tuesday.
This is Clark’s first time competing, and she’ll join a lineup that includes skilled shooters like Sabrina Ionescu (Liberty), Sonia Citron (Mystics), Kelsey Plum (Sparks), and last year’s champion, Alicia Gray (Dream).
Clark has made quite an impact since being drafted last year, earning the Rookie of the Year title in 2024.
At just 23, Clark hasn’t participated in last year’s contest, making her debut in front of home fans in Indianapolis during this season’s All-Star Festival.
She’s known for her three-point shooting, but given the current state of play, she might feel a bit shaky going into this competition.
This season, Clark has been limited to 12 games due to injury, with a shooting percentage of 28.9% from beyond the arc—lower than her fellow competitors.
Nonetheless, there’s a lot of potential in Clark. During her university career, she set a Division I record for three-pointers made (548) with a successful shooting rate of 37.7%.
Last season, she averaged a 34.4% shooting percentage from the arc professionally.
However, she’ll be up against Alicia Gray, who currently leads the WNBA with a 3-point field goal percentage of 38.9%. Ionescu and Plum sit in 7th and 8th place, respectively.
Ionescu won last year’s contest, setting a record with 37 points in the final round.
The Skill Challenge is set to kick off this Friday at 8 PM at Gainbridge Field House, followed by the All-Star Game the next day at 8:30 PM.
