Tampa, Fla.
Rep. Byron Donald (R-FL) recently shared his vision for Florida during an interview with Breitbart News at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit. He emphasized the aim to elevate the state as Governor Ron DeSantis (R) approaches his term limit.
“We’re truly fortunate to live in one of the best states in America,” Donald stated, adding that the leadership in Florida is commendable.
The focus, he remarked, is on building upon the successes of Governor DeSantis.
“Governor DeSantis has guided our state effectively, and now it’s all about capitalizing on that success. We need to consider the future of transportation and ensure it’s convenient for our citizens,” he explained.
Donald highlighted initiatives surrounding the business landscape of the state, mentioning, “We can create an environment here that fosters growth and innovation.”
He further pointed to the developments in Cape Canaveral, stating, “All the space launches are taking place here, showcasing Florida’s significant role in the aerospace sector.” He envisions Florida as a hub for technology and aerospace, stressing the need to enhance manufacturing in North Florida.
“It’s a bold agenda,” he said, asserting the importance of diversifying the economy for the benefit of future generations and college students in Florida.
When questioned about his relationship with DeSantis, particularly in light of his early backing of Trump, Donald mentioned, “Of course, I want the governor’s support, and we’re working on that.” His gratitude for Trump’s backing was clear; he referred to him as “a friend and a great supporter.”
He remains optimistic about building connections with DeSantis, saying, “It’s still early days. There’s plenty of time before the primary heats up, and we’ll keep pushing forward.”
