A magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit the city of Shigatse in Tibet early on Monday, occurring at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The China Earthquake Authority reported that this seismic event took place at 5:11 AM local time (2111 GMT). Emergency services have been deployed, but fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities.
It’s worth noting that a more severe earthquake, measuring 6.8, caused over 120 deaths in January in Tinli County, which is around 240 kilometers from Shigatse.
