Dua Lipa’s New Skincare Line: A Personal Review
So, it’s safe to say that this skincare launch truly impressed me. And let’s face it, when it involves Dua Lipa, any chance for a pun feels justified. I’ve been a fan of hers since the release of her first album, vividly recalling the times I blasted her songs at home, telling anyone who would listen that she was destined to be a pop sensation.
When I discovered she was teaming up with Augustine Bader for a skincare line, I was over the moon—two of my biggest interests intertwined in the best possible way.
On the brand’s website, you can find Lipa stating, “Wherever I am, that’s all I need.” She mentioned that this routine has given her “clearer, stronger, healthier-looking skin.” The DUA line is intentionally streamlined, featuring only three products: a balancing cream cleanser, a renewal cream, and the Supercharged Glow Complex, with the latter being touted as “the secret to glowing skin.”
Having spent over five years dabbling in skincare, I couldn’t wait to try this new line. I’ve dealt with countless products, from those that left me regretting my choices to some that left me pleasantly surprised. Celebrity beauty lines can vary greatly in effectiveness—from chic to downright disappointing.
But when I say that Dua Lipa and skincare are a perfect match, it’s not just a fan moment. I approach it with a critical eye, focused on the ingredients and their moisturizing properties.
My Full Review
The first product I tried was the balancing cream cleanser. It’s a tricky business, finding a formula that doesn’t strip or leave a layer that feels sticky. This cleanser, however, strikes the right balance—its creamy texture gently emulsifies and cleanses. I’ve been using it both in the morning and at night. In the morning, it wipes away any leftover residue from the night before, while at night, it effectively removes makeup and the day’s grime.
What I appreciate most is how it leaves my face feeling—not tight or uncomfortable. Instead, it feels balanced, clean, and ready for the next steps.
Next up is the Supercharged Glow Complex. Honestly, I think this might be the standout product. Its light, smooth texture absorbs quickly, which is a must for someone like me who can’t stand waiting for serums to dry. I tend to use one to two pumps in both my morning and night routines. It layers beautifully beneath sunscreen and makeup, enriching my skin without weighing it down. This serum includes niacinamide and marine extracts designed to enhance skin regeneration.
After consistent use, I noticed a more uniform skin tone and a subtle glow that has me reconsidering my foundation needs. Unlike other glow serums I’ve tried, which often irritate or overpromise, this one offers a thoughtful touch without any redness.
The final product, the renewal cream, acts as the perfect finish to my skincare routine. Its light, yet nourishing consistency absorbs easily, making it suitable for use day and night. It’s become my ritual to gently press it into my skin, giving me that luxurious facial-like experience even when I’m just in my pajamas.
This cream provides ample hydration without being the thickest option out there; those with extremely dry skin may want to layer a facial oil over it, but for normal to combination skin, it’s just right.
Is It Worth It?
The charm of this line lies in its intentionality. It feels crafted for someone who lives under spotlight, traveling frequently and spending hours in front of makeup artists—essentially, someone who needs a skincare routine that genuinely works. And as a long-time skincare enthusiast, I can confidently say that it integrates beautifully into daily life. Cleanse in the shower, apply serum while getting ready, then moisturize before makeup, or repeat it all at night while humming along to her songs.
Dua brings the shine and confidence, while Augustine Bader brings the science—together, they’ve formed a line that’s modern, elevated, and refreshingly down-to-earth.
If glowing skin that makes you want to dance around your kitchen isn’t the ultimate beauty goal, then I really don’t know what is.
