Jon Bon Jovi is mourning the death of his beloved mother, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 83.
The rock singer’s mother, Carol Biongovi, died at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, just three days before she turned 84.
“Our mother was a force to be reckoned with,” says the 62-year-old producer of the hit song “Livin’ on a Prayer.” He told people A statement on behalf of his family said: “Her spirit and positive attitude defined this family and she will be greatly missed.”
Her cause of death was not immediately released.
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Carroll founded the official fan club for her son’s rock band, Bon Jovi, in the 1980s.
Previously, she served in the United States Marine Corps, where she met her future husband, Jon Bongiovi Sr.
They later moved to Sayreville, New Jersey, and welcomed three sons into their family: John, Anthony, and Matthew.

They would just say, ‘Just make sure you’re on time to school. You know it’s your responsibility, but pursue your dreams.'”
Carol is survived by her three sons and their wives, and eight grandchildren.
Carol’s death was announced by her son, rock singer Jake Bongiovi. Secretly married With Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown.
Bon Jovi confirmed reports of the couple’s private wedding during an appearance on BBC’s The One Show in May.
“They’re the best. It’s absolutely amazing. It was a really small family wedding but the bride looked gorgeous and Jake couldn’t be happier,” he said.
