If you’re looking to add some excitement to your spring cleaning, Vermont Disc Jockeys have a fun offer. DJ Cheetahtah, also known as Taraleigh Weathers, brings her gear to your home for an hour, complete with turntables, a DJ controller, a mixer, and headphones, while you tackle chores like cooking, folding laundry, or tidying up your living space.
Weathers, who has a background in the music scene, got inspired while performing in Burlington bars and nightclubs. She thought of a way to make chores more enjoyable. “I’m all about making things a little more fun,” she said.
Part of her charm is her unique outfits, which she proudly sports while spinning tunes. Described as if a cheetah and a butterfly had a child, she often sports vibrant colors and eye-catching accessories.
One local resident, Schirah, enlisted DJ Cheetahtah’s services and found herself happily cleaning and organizing her home. “This very creative, animated, and colorful woman appeared in our living room with her DJ setup,” Schiller remarked. While Weathers mixed songs and danced, Schiller couldn’t help but vibe along.
Beyond the fun, Weathers also highlights a more serious aspect of her gigs. With her own experience of ADHD, she understands that simple tasks can feel daunting. Having someone around to help keep her on track makes a big difference. She recalled a time when a friend invited her to help manage laundry that had gone untouched for weeks, and they tackled it together in just 30 minutes.
Her passion for DJing began after attending the Tulum DJ Academy, where she became fascinated with the craft. “Music is in my bones,” she stated in a social media post. She aims to create a joyful environment where people can let loose and de-stress.
Though she has faced negative comments online, she remains unfazed. “If my sequins and feminine energy upset you, then feel free to click elsewhere,” she stated. “My true essence as a DJ comes from my hands, ears, heart, and soul.”
