A bizarre play on ice cream sandwiches featuring McDonald’s hash browns and McFlurries has taken the internet by storm.
This bizarre trend was first triggered by Australian Tiktoker’s Kelly Arvan account @arvanfamilyWHO posted a video Last month I made a customized snack in the car after going to a fast food chain.
“You know what really pisses me off at McDonald’s?” Irvan asked, confidently smearing a spoonful of Oreo McFlurry on the side of buttery hash browns. “The fact that cravings can strike at any time. When you want something to eat at McDonald’s, nothing compares to this.”
Irvan said he was sitting on the couch late at night when he suddenly had a craving for salty and sweet drinks.
She took her first crunchy bite and did a little happy dance in her car seat.
“It was worth the wait,” she says affectionately as she holds the sandwich up to the camera and shows it to the viewer.
“I dreamed of this,” she added.
Irvan described the sandwich as “salty, crunchy, potatoy and sweet,” and gave it a perfect “10 out of 10” rating in the viral video, which has been viewed more than 5.7 million times.
While some TikTok users were uninterested in the unique sandwich, many seemed intrigued and willing to dabble.
“If you think about it, it’s like dipping french fries into ice cream,” one user commented on Irvan’s video.
Another commented, “I’ll try this tomorrow.”
Others shared their own unconventional fast food combinations.
“This is a must try,” said one user. “I dip my chicken nuggets in an Oreo McFlurry. You should try it!!”
One person commented, “It’s nacho cheese Doritos dipped in frosting.”
Since Irvan’s video went viral, other TikTokers have flocked to the golden arches to try the sandwich. Some found it harder to get than they thought.
TikToker @bechardgrave “I had to drive to three McDonald’s to find one that had both soft serve ice cream and hash browns right now,” she reveals in the video.
But after finally getting two ingredients, she was completely sold.
Hardgrave said of Arvan, “This girl is a genius.” “This is so cool. Remember when you used to enjoy dipping potato chips in soft serve ice cream as a kid? This is ten times better than that.”
McDonald’s Australian branch has endorsed Urban’s Snacks.
