The infant’s grandfather told authorities he received a call from Thomas around 1 p.m. Friday. She said, “There’s something wrong with the baby and she needs to go home right away.”
Upon returning home, the grandfather immediately smelled smoke and found the infant dead in the crib. Thomas said she “accidentally” put the infant in the oven, according to court filings.
She apparently exercised her Fifth Amendment right to remain silent when Thomas was taken into custody.
According to reports, her social media accounts seem to show that she is a loving mother who cares about her children. She called the infant “princess.”
In a Facebook post, she expressed her desire to be “the best possible mother to my beautiful daughter,” the Daily Mail reported.
However, not all of her social media posts painted a positive image.
Leading up to the horrifying incident, she claimed on social media that no one cared about her or her daughters, saying: “My daughters are my friends by never checking up on me or Zaria. “I claim that,” he wrote.
The creepy message was written on January 20th.
Thomas is being held at the Jackson County Detention Center.
