Cross-Dressing Package Thief Arrested in Alabama

A man dressed as a woman has been arrested for stealing packages from neighborhoods in Alabama.

Todd Anthony Bond, 46, was taken into custody early Friday by deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, who had been following up on surveillance video that led them to initially believe they were looking for a woman.

Sergeant Ronnie Parsons noted, “The vehicle stood out to us in several ways that helped us solve this crime.” He added, “What’s interesting is this person’s appearance. With Halloween approaching, we weren’t sure if it was part of a costume or just regular clothing.”

Bond, a Mississippi resident, was caught on camera driving a black Ford Escape during the day and casually walking by his home.

In the footage, he was seen taking a few puffs from an e-cigarette before loading his SUV with an armful of stolen items and then driving away.

His outfit included a sparkling purple headband, a blouse, and a skirt, topped off with long blonde hair. The realization that Bond was a man only came to light when investigators pulled over the Ford Escape several days later.

When police stopped him around 1 a.m. Friday, Bond was still dressed in women’s clothing. It’s unclear whether he was in disguise, identified as transgender, or just enjoyed cross-dressing.

Despite the ambiguity around his gender presentation, police referred to Bond as “he” and “him” during and after his arrest.

A booking photo from Metro Prison showed him still wearing women’s attire, complete with slicked-back bleached hair, make-up, and accessories.

Investigators found the stolen packages inside Bond’s vehicle, along with additional items reported stolen from other residences.

Parsons mentioned, “We believe the suspects were originally out of state. While waiting, we received tips they might be returning to the area.” He added, “When we stopped them, we found the original stolen package in their vehicle.”

Interestingly, Bond had been released from prison just six months prior to this incident.

He is currently in jail, awaiting a bail hearing scheduled for Monday.
