Welcome to Playing Through's daily ritual, Golf Talk Today.
Each day, the crew will discuss a different element of the PGA Tour, LPGA, LIV Golf and more.
Here's a look at the FedExCup fall standings after Patton Kizzir won the first round of the Procore Championship. This win was huge for him as it was his first win in six years and earned him a spot in the season-opening tournament, the Sentry, his first signature event.
The win moved him from 132nd to 70th in the rankings and put him closer to qualifying for the next two signature events.
Let's talk more about the FedExCup Fall.
What is FedEx Cup Fall?
For those who don't know, the FedExCup Fall Tournament is Series of tournaments This allows players ranked 51st or lower to earn more points and have a better chance of starting a signature event.
If they have not already qualified, the top 10 finishers at the end of the Fall Series (The Next 10) will qualify for the first two Signature Events in 2025 following The Sentry.
Players ranked 51-70 at the start of the fall have already secured a spot in the top 125, but the key is competing in signature events. These events are what will help move players up the rankings in the regular season.
Players ranked 71st or lower can win one of 10 places in the signature event, but must finish in the top 125 at the end of the fall series to maintain full-field event status.
Players ranked 125th through 150th will have conditional status in 2025.
