A straightforward reason why Musk's 'America Party' might be failing already

On Saturday, Elon Musk announced on X that he created the American Party to “return your freedom.”

He expressed concern that a substantial spending bill would be passed by Congress, emphasizing that national debt is a major issue at hand.

Musk’s approach has historical precedent; he seems to be emulating another billionaire who sought to disrupt the system, which he previously succeeded in doing.

During campaign strategy sessions involving Texas Senator Ted Cruz, it was suggested that Trump’s strategy effectively formed a third party within the Republican framework.

Trump notably focused his campaign on immigration.

According to commentator Steve Deace, we shouldn’t underestimate Musk, calling him one of the most successful individuals in history.

However, Deace noted that if Musk’s ambitions lean towards creating chaos, he would need a solid message to resonate. Currently, the pressing issue seems to be the national debt, which might not be viable, he suggested.

Deace argued that the American debt isn’t as drastic as some claim, pointing out it stems from those “swamp creatures” in power. He emphasized that it’s not just the system, but also the people involved. He indicated that a significant chunk of federal spending, almost half, goes to what he described as unnecessary qualifications.

He highlighted that 14% of the debt originates from military expenditures, predicting it will reach 10% if interest is factored in.

Furthermore, Deace compared this to social programs like Social Security and Medicaid, noting that they dominate federal spending. He mentioned that Musk has received $38 billion in government subsidies, raising eyebrows about the implications of calling for cuts to benefits like Social Security.

Deace humorously referenced the Dark Knight, implying that such claims would be met with skepticism.
